Jerad Lippi (born in Scranton Pennsylvania in 1984), attended The New School University Jazz and Contemporary Music Program, and received his Bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from SUNY Purchase. He currently received his Master of Music Degree in Jazz Studies at SUNY Purchase, where he has served as the drummer for the Purchase Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Todd Coolman. He recently completed and submitted his Masters Thesis, entitled Time Travels: Modern Rhythm Section Techniques as Employed by Ari Hoenig.

Lippis teachers have included legendary drummers Joe Morello, John Riley, Ari Hoenig, Michael Carvin, and Kenny Washington, and he has performed widely throughout the northeast. Among the artists he has had the privilege of performing with are Eric Alexander, Dave Liebman, Randy Brecker, Paul Bollenbeack, Jimmy Greene, Jaques Schwarz-Bart, Steve Wilson, Ralph Bowen, Ralph Lalama, John Fedchock, Paquito DRivera, Jon Faddis, Wycliffe Gordon, David Hazeltine, Charles Blenzig, Ilona Knopfler, Ted Piltzecker, Steve Rudolph, and Loren Schoenberg. He recently was the drummer for the WBGO gala honoring James Moody in November 2008, and performed in a live radio broadcast for the station in April 2008 and April 2009. He has played with a variety of ensembles, in venues such as Birdland, Dizzys Club Coca-Cola, Smalls, The Bar Next Door, Cleopatras Needle, Smalls, The Hudson Theater, Sherman Theater, Penns Peak, and The Deerhead Inn.

Jerad also is committed to jazz education. He has served on the faculty of The Performing Arts Institute at Wyoming Seminary and maintains active private teaching studios in New York City and in his hometown of Jessup, PA.
