The SmallsLIVE Foundation for Jazz Art & Education is a not-for-profit arts organization.
Our mission is to subsidize the operation of our venues, recording projects, tours and educational initiatives.
During this Covid-19 pandemic our mission is to keep the clubs floating until business can be restored.
We will also sponsor live-streamed concerts from the club that will keep the musicians working during this period.
We will also be offering emergency aid for Jazz musicians in need due to this calamity.

Royalties are paid directly to the musicians by The SmallsLIVE Foundation.
Members sponsor their favorite musicians by listening to their music.
Live Stream
Smalls Jazz Club has been a pioneer in live streaming and began streaming shows live from the venue in 2007.
There is no cost to watch our live streams. During normal operating times the entire evening is streamed.
During this Covid-19 pandemic period there will be special live concerts scheduled in advance.

SmallsLIVE Members may sponsor artists of their choice and receive their music as downloads or CDs.

Steve Brickman is a multi-instrumentalist/composer/engineer/video designer of many styles & genres. He has worked on numerous projects for television, video games, and musical artists. He also runs his own record label/studio called BRICKMAN STUDIOS.
Steve started piano at the age of 7. From there he started to explore the saxophone. This transition got him interested in jazz music. He also started to do film scoring work in high school for several independent films as well as an instructional yoga dvd. Steve studied at the New England Conservatory saturday prep school studying privately, playing in small jazz ensembles, learning about jazz arranging as well as advanced music theory.
Mr. Brickman attended the University of Miami originally focussing on Media Writing & Production, then switched over to a double major in Classical Composition and Jazz Performance for saxophone. During his time at Miami, he learned to write for the orchestra, big band, small ensembles, electronic mediums, and television; as well as studying conducting, counterpoint, jazz arranging. During his time at Miami, Steve won a DownBeat Music Award for his composition entitled "Mystical Substance"
Currently residing in New York City, Steve is working professionally as a film composer, engineer, music copyist, performer, and an educator. Mr. Brickman started at OMG Pop which is new york's largest facebook game company. From there he gained work as a video game composer working with several independent iphone and iPad games. Steve is a highly trained mixing engineer who's credits range from sound for film to professional music albums. As a music copyist, Mr. Brickman has his own copyist company ranging from cleaning up existing charts too preparing orchestral arrangements. As a performer, Steve has played in some of the top clubs in new york as well as toured internationally. From 2011-2012, Steve was an integral member of the band Emil & Friends (signed to cantora records - same label as MGMT). He has also played at some of the top local jazz clubs as well as international jazz festivals and cruises (playboy jazz cruise, palatia jazz festival).
