Steinway piano artist "Kayo" Hiraki has been praised Japanese critics for her "gentle approach to the American jazz idiom." She has played live and studied with the great legends of jazz, including Barry Harris, Larry Ham, and Ron Carter. Originally born in Japan, Kayo has lived and played in New York City since 1990s at her nightly famous local jazz venue gig with her trio at Arturo's in heart of Greenwich Village. Kayo studied music education at Kunitachi Music College in Tokyo, leading her to work with also organs, synthesizers. Her albums, which feature several of her trios and herself on vocals, often include her own compositions, such as "I Miss You" on "I Miss You" and "Our Sweet Angel" on "This Mellowed Heart".
