American jazz pianist, composer and improviser Russ Lossing, based in New York City for over 40 years, is a master of jazz and improvised music with a singular, original language and phraseology.   He has toured world-wide playing major jazz clubs and festivals both as leader and side-man.He has performed with Paul Motian, Mark Helias, Dave Liebman, John Abercrombie Billy Hart, Samuel Blaser, Michael Formanek, Tim Berne, Billy Mintz, Cameron Brown, Ralph Alessi, Drew Gress, Oliver Lake, Wallace Roney and many others. Lossing has released 27 albums on multiple record labels including Hathut, Sunnyside, SONGS/Blaser Music, Fresh Sound, CleanFeed, Steeple Chase, Jazzdor, DoubleTime, OmniTone and his own label Aqua Piazza Records(AQP). Lossing played with master drummer Paul Motian over a period of 12 years performing and recording including week-long stints at the Village Vanguard as a member of Motian's Quintet.
