Milton Suggs is a vocalist, composer, and storyteller whose artistry is deeply rooted in the continuum of African American music. Anchored in the blues and shaped by a century of tradition, his rich baritone carries both weight and warmth—an instrument capable of intimate nuance and commanding power. As a composer and arranger, his work is both honest and inventive, weaving hard bop, soul, and R&B into a sound that feels timeless yet unmistakably his own.   Suggs has earned repeated honors as a Top 10 Rising Star Male Vocalist in DownBeat Magazine's Critics Poll, and is frequently sought out as both vocalist and lyricist by fellow artists. He has released five albums to date, the latest, Pure Intention, receiving a perfect five-star rating from DownBeat.   Born in Chicago and raised in Atlanta, Suggs is a third-generation musician now based in New York City, where he performs and teaches both nationally and internationally.
