Born in Seoul, South Korea, Joonsam moved to the NYC area in 2007 and in terms of huge musical spectrum, he has taken part in various musical projects including jazz, classical music, and world music ensemble. Since settling in Manhattan, he has been active in the NY metropolitan area, performing at some of the finest jazz clubs and venues, not only as a side man but also a bandleader. He played music at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Blue Note Jazz club, Cornelia st. café, Zinc bar, 55 bar, Smalls jazz club and etc, and internationally performed in Jarasum International Jazz festival(Korea), Taichung Jazz festival(Taiwan), Grand Tour Jazz festival, Jazz di Marca Jazz festival (Italy), Odessa International Jazz festival, Vinnista Jazz Festival (Ukraine) as well as appearing with various Symphony Orchestras including New York Wind Orchestra and New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. In 2016 summer, Joonsam recorded his debut album(Origin) "A DOOR" with Aaron Parks (piano), Nate Wood (drums), Ralph Alessi (trumpet), Ben Monder(guitar), Chungeun Han (bamboo flute), Yvvonick Prene(harmonica) and Yeahwon Shin(vocal)   Reviews: "Full of warm affection and bright imaginary, the music is a revelation of who Joonsam is and what the world looks like through his eyes and what it sounds like through his ears.
