As the son of the late great bassist Dominic Duval Sr. (Cecil Taylor's former bassist), bassist Dominic Duval Jr. has been playing both upright and electric basses for the past twenty years on the local, national, and international music scene. From 2007-2011, Dominic attended the prestigious Eastman School of Music as a double major in both classical and jazz double bass performance where he studied with James VanDemark, Jeff Campbell, Harold Danko, and Bill Dobbins. As an educator, Dominic breifly held the position of adjunct professorship at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah (a former affiliate of The Juilliard School of Music). Throughout his career, Dominic has performed at many notable venues including: Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Jazz Standard, The 55 Bar, The Bar Next Door, and Smalls. His performance resume includes many musicians including: Adam Nussbaum, Joe McPhee, Jay Rosen, Carl Bartlett Jr., Barry Green, Tim Siciliano, Dave Lalama, Corey Christiansen, Patrick Cornelius, Willie Applewhite, Bruce Cox, Steve Lyman, Kevin Clark, Paul Bollenback, Tom Guarna, Bryan Campbell, Carl Allen, Martin Bejerano, and Chris Ziemba. As a sideman, Dominic has also recorded on over a dozen albums.
