Katie Cosco is a talented New York City based jazz artist who has been expressing her musical virtuosity as a pianiist most of her life. She appears at many prominent New York venues both as a leader and as a side musician, and is in high demand in a variety of musical settings. A deciple of the late Barry Harris, Katie continues the legacy of the be-bop and post be-bop rooted jazz traditions which have been proliferated by the many musical greats that have influenced her.  In her formative years as a musician, Katie became drawn to the worlds of mainstream jazz and jazz fusion. As a student of classical piano since age five, she expanded her formal musical education at Indiana University, where she received a degree in piano and audio engineering, and then subsequently completed a master's degree in jazz piano performance at the University of Memphis.  Katie continues to perform in many genres including jazz, pop, rock, R and B, latin and gospel music, and has successfully navigated the world of keyboard synthesizers, and Hammond organ as well as acoustic piano. Currently, she can be heard performing often at the well-known NYC restaurant, Robert at MAD at Columbus circle above the Museum of Arts and Design.  She also appears frequently with groups at Mezzrow and Smalls jazz clubs, Cellar Dog, Ornithology, and The Rum House. In addition to her work as a performer, Katie holds the position of adjunct professor at Cali School of Music at Montclair State University. She is honored to be chosen as a frequent clinician for the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz in NYC held on the campus of the New School, and has facilitated advanced harmony workshops in Rome, Italy and Mott College in Flint, Michigan.
