Nic Cacioppo has been described by Downbeat Magazine as “a fascinating drummer”. Growing up in a musical household, he began working as a drummer in various genres in and around Philadelphia as a teenager. Since moving to North Jersey in 2004 he has had the distinct honor of performing, touring, and/or recording with world class musicians including Slide Hampton, Johnny O’Neal, Gene Perla, Wallace Roney, George Cables, David Murray, and has been the regular drummer with the JD Allen trio since 2018. No stranger to the tenor saxophone trio format - Cacioppo has also been the regular drummer for the Nicole Glover trio since its inception and can be seen playing with Aaron Burnett trio as well.
