Dado Moroni was born in Genoa, Italy, on October 20, 1962. He has been playing the piano professionally since the age of 14 and has come to be regarded as one of the finest European jazz pianists. He has toured and recorded extensively with many of the finest contemporary American and European jazz musicians. In 1987 he was one of the judges for the First Thelonious Monk Piano Jazz Competition at the Smithsonian Institute. INSIGHTS is the 26th LP/CD on which Dado has appeared. Among the many musicians with whom he has recorded are Clark Terry, Jon Faddis, Ed Thigpen, Ron Carter, Grady Tate, George Robert, Tom Harrell, Lee Konitz, Al Grey, Lewis Nash, Ray Brown and Reggie Johnson.
