Mian Milanovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, where he received his initial musical training. At the tender age of ten, Milan won the Serbian Classical Trombone Competition, and it was not long after that he won many other major awards in his country, such as first place at the Yugoslavian National Trombone Competition at the age of 12. But piano has always been his real love, and he wanted to pursue it, with a passion. In 1995 Milan was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and decided to move to the United States. During his time at Berklee Milan won numerous scholarships and awards, and represented the college all over the United States. He graduated with honors in 1999. Since then, Milan has performed with many Jazz greats, such as Mark Whitfield, Donald Edwards, Branford Marsalis, Greg Tardy, Stefon Harris, Tim Warfield, to name a few. He recently played on Jacques Schwarz-Bart's brand new CD "Sone Ka LA" on Universal Records. Currently, Milan is touring with Jacques's band in support of this new CD. (check the tour dates for more info). Milan is getting ready to record his new CD sometime this year. It will be an acoustic blend of Jazz and the music from his country, Serbia. Stay tuned...
