A native of New England, Chris Burbank has been playing the trumpet since his early middle school days. Chris is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he received his bachelor's degree in Music Education, and received his trumpet studies from Dr. Robert Stibler. While at UNH, Burbank was honored to study and work with legendary trumpeter Clark Terry. He has performed at venues and schools throughout the Boston/New England area, including the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH, the Seacoast Jazz Festival, Manchester Blues and Jazz Festival, Cratsbury Music Festival, UNH/Clark Terry Jazz Festival, the Lily Pad in Cambridge, MA, and the New Hampshire Music Festival. Burbank is currently studying at The Juilliard School, and has been fortunate enough study with the great Eddie Henderson. Throughout his studies at Juilliard, Chris has had the privilege to share the stage with such greats as Terence Blanchard, Maria Schneider, Kenny Barron, Carl Allen, Ben Wolfe, Rodney Jones, Ted Nash, Ron Blake, Paquito D'Rivera, Benny Green, Gerald Wilson, Mulgrew Miller, and Benny Golson. While in New York, he has had the pleasure to perform at different venues throughout the city, including Smalls Jazz Club, Dizzy's Coca Cola Club, Swing 46, Alice Tully Hall, Peter Jay Sharp Theater, The Cutting Room, The Triad, and The New School. Burbank has toured representing the Juilliard Jazz department to several national and international residencies and clinics, including Princeton University, NJ, Utah, Vermont, South Carolina, Georgia, Costa Rica, and Spain.
