Special Guest Jerry Bergonzi
Jerry Bergonzi is a jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and educator. He received a B.A. Degree in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1971. Jerry is internationally known as a performer, educator, author and composer. The extensive list of people that he has played with includes such notables as Dave Brubeck, Roy Haynes, Hal Galper, Bill Evans and Jack DeJohnette among others. He is on over 200 CD's and over 30 as a leader.   Bergonzi teaches at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He is the author of Inside Improvisation, a multi-volume series of instructional books with play-along CDs and videos, and another series of books about improvisation published by Advance Music. He is also the author of the book/CD set Sound Advice, published by Jamey Aebersold Jazz.   Jerry and Hal’s trio have extensively toured the US and Europe together and collaborated on four albums including Reunion, Rebop, Just Us and Lets Call This That.   The Hal Galper Trio With Special Guest Jerry Bergonzi will be touring the North East and Mid-West in October and recording a live album for Origin Records.
