He will lead a stellar quartet at Smalls Jazz club on January 17th. Featuring Lonnie Plaxico - Bass , Pheeroan Aklaff - Drums , Pete Drungle- piano and Jay Rodriguez - leader , saxophones and flute. Mr Rodriguez plays with an unreserved flexibly on the tenor, alto and soprano saxophones; flute; and bass clarinet. He has worked with artists from Prince to Elvis Costello to Marc Ribot.
